Cynthia Ree Rolllins Brown (aka "Cyn") passed away at Mississippi Baptist Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi, on Thursday,January 14, 2016 at the age of 73.
Cynthia is predeceased by her husband, Johnie I. Brown, parents Gardner and Othello Anderson Rollins, and her daughter Debra McNeal.
Cynthia is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Denise Whitehead (Victor), of Jackson, Mississippi; grandson, Joshua Rollins of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; sister, Albertine Alexander (MacArthur), of Chicago, Illinois; an aunt, Maggie Rollins, of Yazoo City, Mississippi; and a host of cousins and other relatives from various cities and states.
Cynthia Ree Rollins Brown was born in Yazoo County, Mississippi on October 9, 1942. She married her high school sweetheart, Melvin McNeal--this union resulted in the birth of twin girls--Debra and Denise. Debra expired shortly after birth leaving Denise to be raised as Cynthia's only child.
Cynthia was a graduate of N.D. Taylor High School in class of 1961. She later left Mississippi for St. Louis, Missouri.
Cynthia was employed by the law firm formerly known as Husch, Eppenberger, Donohue, Cormfeld & Elson. She began her career in the file room and later became a secretary and technical supervisor. She retired in 2005 after 30+ years and returned home to Yazoo City, Mississippi to care for her ailing mother until her death in 2008.
Cynthia was an avid reader. She also enjoyed singing, computer games, watching football and being with family and friends.
